The 2nd North American Summit on Interpreting took place in Washington, DC in June 2011. For its second year, the Summit was expanded to two full days of plenary-style presentations, debates and panel discussions focusing on how technology is changing the interpreting profession and how to raise the profile of interpreting in an increasingly interconnected world. During the second day, attendees participated in workgroups focusing on the key topics of education and training, professional associations, legal and advocacy, certification and credentialing, and technology. The conclusions of each workgroup will be included in a white paper drafted by InterpretAmerica and made available at no cost as a service to the profession.
