Cross-Cultural Communications
Cross-Cultural Communications is the only national agency specialized in training for community, legal and “dual role” interpreters (bilingual staff). We license interpreter trainers across the country and offer the only national 40-hour certificate program for community interpreting.
CCC also provides technical assistance, training, consulting and writing services in the areas of cultural competence and language access. Some of our training manuals can be downloaded or purchased on the website.

Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters The Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing a national, valid, credible and vendor-neutral credentialing program for all healthcare interpreters. CCHI was created by interpreters, for interpreters and the public good, and involves thousands of interpreters and users of interpreter services in defining their future and the credentials by which they will be known and respected. In 2011, CCHI will begin administering its examinations nationally to interpreters who work in all languages and begin developing oral performance examinations in multiple languages.

International Medical Interpreters Association
The IMIA is an umbrella association that promotes all standards and best practices in the profession of medical interpreting. As an international trade association of medical interpreters, it is governed by and represents practicing medical interpreters as the ultimate experts in medical interpreting. Membership is open to all professions and is not limited to medical interpreters. IMIA is an official active member of FIT, the Federation of Interpreters and Translators, an international organization comprised of trade associations of interpreters and translators worldwide.
